Thank you Ford for selecting Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley as your partner in making significant improvements in our community. Ford generously provided HHHV with a $2,300 grant to purchase all the supplies necessary to paint  the 113 Miles home top to bottom including new ladders, shop vacs, every painting tool and supply you could think of and provide lunch for their employee volunteers who are also helping to complete these homes. Only problem is, that house isn't ready to be painted but 117 Miles has lots of painting to do now so Ford employees will paint the house next door today. Thank you again Ford Motor Company and your employees!

The largest group of UM student volunteers during the entire build (30) will work together this one day to set the stage for the rest of the build. Weather permitting, the 117 Miles garage roof will be torn off and reroofed in one day, a concrete apron will be busted up around 113 Miles, much interior work will begin at both homes including demolition of walls. In some rooms, we are hoping to salvage old pine paneling for re-use and sale in our ReStore. At some point, all the siding and the entire roof at 117 Miles will be torn off replaced.

Kitchen countertops need to be installed, insulation needs to be put in attic (early morning job if hot), deck staining, siding repairs, and more are yet to be completed on this rehab home for Robert Kraft. Thank you for thinking of Habitat when considering where you will volunteer your time. We continue to work toward preparing the house for the dedication on September 21 at 2:00pm. We very much appreciate your help!

Friday, September 19, 8:00am - 4:00pm (8 hours)

Co-sponsor MAV Development employees and friends are providing volunteer labor today alongside UM grad students who normally work on Fridays. Thank you UofM Campus Chapter for sponsoring another Habitat home and to MAV Development for your financial sponsorship and volunteers!

Siding and roofing are priority jobs before the weather turns so that is possible work early in this build. It is probably premature to plan on drywall this early in the project but flooring is needed throughout the 113 Miles home and significant flooring, wall demolition and new wall framing will be done at 117 Miles.
